Japan Trip and Finishing the Apprenticeship
Waiting with my guitar to board the flight to Japan.
After arriving in Osaka, I had a few days to adjust to the time difference and explore before the Sound Messe guitar show.
Sightseeing around Osaka.
Then it was time for the show.
This is the luthier zone dedicated to hand made acoustic guitars.
Here is another area, where some of the major Japanese guitar stores were setting up.
I didn’t take many photos during the show. But here’s some of the other nice people exhibiting and attending.
After the show I had a chance to visit the Miki Gakki shop in Osaka. They bought my guitar at the show, it is now available at their store.
Then I did some travel in Japan, here’s a few photos from that. Kamakura.
Nara.
Kanazawa.
Hiroshima.
Miyajima.
Tokyo.
In Tokyo, I had a chance to visit some Somogyi guitars.
Then I returned to California, where I spent a few more weeks at the Somogyi shop, finishing up some last minute things, packing, and preparing to move back to New Zealand for the next chapter.
A photo with Ervin on my last day.
Now I’m back in New Zealand, and starting the process of finding a space for my new workshop. Thanks for following along, what a journey it has been.
